Congressman Patronis Honors Northwest Florida’s Fallen Heroes

May 13, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) voted in favor of H.Res. 1252, Resolution Memorializing Law Enforcement Officers Killed In the Line of Duty. Among those remembered were three fallen officers who served within Florida’s First Congressional District, whose sacrifice left a lasting impact on the communities they served: Sergeant Alton D. Berrian of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff Jeremy H. Cassady of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff William May of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office “This Police Week, we honor 363 fallen heroes, including three from Florida’s First Congressional District,” said Congressman Patronis. “Sergeant Berrian, Deputy Cassady, and Deputy May represented the very best of our country. Our law enforcement officers go to work 24/7/365, willing to put their lives on the line to protect others. Northwest Florida will be forever grateful for the lives they dedicated to keeping us safe.” H.
