LaMonica McIver released the below statement on Republicans ramming through a budget that cuts trillions from Medicaid, SNAP, and the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and damages families in New Jersey and nationwide: “Today is an extremely sad day. The bill that House Republicans gleefully passed tonight will devastate seniors, veterans, families, and people across New Jersey and the country with trillion dollar cuts to essential services. In my district alone, this bill will take away Medicaid coverage from over 225,700 people, destroy benefits for 144,000 SNAP users, and raise healthcare premiums by 55% for 30,000 ACA recipients.
