Congresswoman Gwen Moore Condemns Denial of FEMA Disaster Aid Following Historic August Flooding Congresswoman Gwen Moore released the following statement after FEMA’s denial of Public Assistance for Milwaukee, Door, Grant, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha counties after experiencing major flooding and an estimated $26.5 million in public infrastructure damage. “Our state was forced to wait for nearly two months for the Trump administration’s ill-advised and disappointing decision. Communities in Milwaukee, which are still recovering, are counting on federal assistance to help fund critical repairs to public roadways, buildings, vehicles, and equipment that were severely damaged. But Wisconsinites do not give up. I applaud Governor Evers and his team for taking steps necessary to begin the appeals process to finally unlock this overdue but still needed aid. I will do everything in my power to push for this decision to be reversed.”
