Fitzpatrick Statement on Federal Indictment of Bucks County Man Charged with Making Threats Against Him
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) released the following statement regarding the federal grand jury indictment of a Bucks County man charged with making threats against him : “I want to express my sincere gratitude to the dedicated men and women of the United States Capitol Police, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office for their professionalism and diligence in this matter, and for their continued service to our community and country. Threats of violence against anyone, under any circumstances, are never acceptable. There can be no ambiguity about that. Such allegations must be taken seriously, and the judicial process must be allowed to run its course. Throughout my career in law enforcement and public service, I have been guided by a fundamental conviction: accountability and compassion are not competing obligations. We can unequivocally condemn threats of violence and uphold the law without losing sight of the humanity of those involved, the struggles they may be facing, and the families affected. As Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Task Force, I have made strengthening our mental health care system a longstanding priority—working across party lines to improve crisis intervention, expand access to treatment, and ensure individuals and families have somewhere to turn when they need help most. We must never lose sight of our responsibility to uphold the law, nor our obligation to extend compassion and support to those who may be struggling. One does not diminish the other. Both reflect the values that should guide us as neighbors, as a community, and as a country.” ###
