McBath Honors 40 Vietnam Veterans During 50th Commemoration Pinning Ceremony

Atlanta, GA — This Saturday, November 1 st , Representative Lucy McBath (GA-06) honored 40 veterans of the Vietnam War, including the family members of three deceased Vietnam veterans. Saturday’s ceremony marked McBath’s eighth Pinning Ceremony since taking office in 2019. In total, her office has recognized 172 veterans who served during the Vietnam War era. “Through the years, I am so proud to have recognized so many Vietnam era veterans for their service to America, McBath said. “This weekend’s ceremony was a necessary step for each veteran and their family towards a proper, public recognition of gratitude on behalf of the United States. I am humbled by the opportunity to be a voice for veterans in Congress, and grateful for the chance to have honored so many veterans at these ceremonies. Established in 2008, the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration honors veterans of the Vietnam War for their heroic service and pays tribute to their selfless contributions. Veterans recognized during the ceremony served during the Vietnam War era in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. Each veteran was recognized with a commemorative lapel pin and a certificate of recognition. The official commemoration period for the 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War will conclude at the end of this year.
