Sánchez on military strikes between Israel, Iran

June 16, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (D-Calif.) released the following statement on the ongoing military strikes between Israel and Iran: "A nuclear-armed Iran poses a grave threat to Israel’s existence, stability in the region and global security. Israel has the right to defend itself against the threats created by Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “The military escalation between Israel and Iran can be traced back to President Trump withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal without introducing a viable alternative during his first term. This withdrawal allowed Iran to resume its nuclear activities unchecked. “The Trump administration must collaborate with our international partners to work toward a peaceful solution that stops Iran’s nuclear proliferation and immediately de-escalates the situation.
