Rep. Yakym: “Hardworking Americans Can’t Afford Fairytales”

<p><strong>WASHINGTON, D.C.</strong>&nbsp; &#8211;&nbsp; Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) voted to roll back three Biden EPA rules that allowed California to go above federal standards and enforce even stricter environmental standards through the Congressional Review Act (CRA) process.</p>

<p>“Democrats live in the Green New Deal fantasyland, but Republicans know hardworking Americans can’t afford fairytales,” <strong>said Rep. Yakym. </strong>“The reality is, Biden’s radical EPA teamed up with Commie-fornia to push an extreme environmental agenda on the entire country—driving up costs, killing jobs, weakening our energy independence, and stripping away consumer choice. We are putting America first and cleaning up the mess of the last four years.”</p>

Res 88:</strong></a><strong> </strong>This would eliminate California’s authority to set stricter vehicle emission standards that included a mandate to increase the sale of zero-emission vehicles.</p>

Res 89:</strong></a><strong> </strong>This would eliminate California’s authority to implement its “Omnibus” Low NOx Regulation, which sets strict emission standards for both on-road and nonroad engines, many of which are used in construction and agriculture.</p>
