Shaheen Tours Derry – Londonderry I-93 Exit 4A Project, Leads Discussion with New Hampshire Aerospace Leaders in Merrimack, Delivers Remarks to Honor Korean War Veterans in Boscawen

(Boscawen, NH) – Today, U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) visited the site of the Derry – Londonderry I-93 Exit 4A project to tour the site and received a briefing on the status of the project. Prior to her visit to the Exit 4A site, Shaheen began the day by leading a roundtable with Granite State aerospace business leaders in the wake of her Congressional delegation to the Farnborough Air Show in the United Kingdom. She closed the day at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, where she delivered remarks to honor Korean War veterans. Photos from today’s events can be found HERE. In Derry, Shaheen visited the site of the Derry – Londonderry I-93 Exit 4A project, where she toured the active construction site and was given an update on the projected timeline for completion of the project by officials from the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. The I-93 Exit 4A project is a longtime priority for the Derry and Londonderry communities, and once completed, it will improve traffic safety while unlocking access to underdeveloped lands and easing traffic in both communities. The I-93 4A Exit project was funded in part by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law , which Shaheen helped negotiate and pass in Congress. “The Derry – Londonderry I-93 Exit 4A project will reduce traffic congestion, promote downtown Derry and Londonderry and improve safety in each community and for travelers across the state,” said Senator Shaheen. “Touring the active Exit 4A site today underscored the importance of continued federal investments in our state’s road infrastructure to boost tourism and spur economic development. I was proud to see the progress made since my last visit to the site and will continue to support this critical project.” As a key negotiator of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law , Shaheen helped secure a $550 billion investment in our nation’s infrastructure, including more than $1.1 billion for roads, bridges, roadway safety and major projects in New Hampshire. In 2024, Shaheen was joined by then-Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in a visit to the Exit 4A site to highlight the impact in New Hampshire of federal investments in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law . Earlier in the day, Shaheen led a roundtable in Nashua on the heels of the 2026 Farnborough Air Show , the largest biennial trade-show in the world. At the roundtable, Shaheen led a discussion on pathways to unlock new markets for New Hampshire businesses, the state’s status in the global aerospace market and the critical role the Air Show played in connecting Granite State businesses with industry leaders across the globe. “New Hampshire’s robust aerospace industry remains on the cutting-edge of innovation, building and manufacturing products that spur technological innovation and keep our nation safe,” said Senator Shaheen . “Following record turnout at Farnborough earlier this month, it was great to convene industry leaders from across the state for an insightful conversation recapping this year’s Air Show and discussing the bright future that lies ahead for one of our state’s most valuable industries.” Just recently, Shaheen led her final bipartisan Congressional delegation to the Farnborough Air Show with the goal of representing New Hampshire’s aerospace sector on the international stage. Aerospace serves as New Hampshire’s top export sector, supporting 24,000 jobs and representing $1.7 billion in exports in 2025 alone. The New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs, alongside New Hampshire’s Aerospace and Defense Consortium (NHADC) , directly connects Granite State talent with the state’s $12.5 billion aerospace, space and defense sector. NHADC featured New Hampshire exhibitors at the Air Show this year through the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP), which provides export assistance to small businesses. Senator Shaheen created the STEP program in 2010 and continues to lead action in support of STEP in Congress. To close the day, Shaheen attended and delivered remarks at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery to honor New Hampshire veterans of the Korean War and thank them for their service and sacrifice. Hosted by the Korean American Society of New Hampshire following National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day earlier this week, the event was also attended by Governor Kelly Ayotte, Sun Woo Park, President of the Korean American Society of New Hampshire, Jeongyeol Kwak, Deputy Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Boston and Maj. Gen. David J. Mikolaities, Adjutant General of the New Hampshire National Guard. “The courage, service and sacrifice of American soldiers in Korea helped preserve freedom for millions and was a proud chapter in the history of our country’s military,” said Senator Shaheen . “Our brave service members who fought in Korea must never be forgotten, and I was honored to join the Korean American Society of New Hampshire to express our gratitude to the veterans of the Korean War for their valor and unyielding commitment to our nation.” Throughout her time in public office, Senator Shaheen has remained a staunch advocate for our nation’s veterans and for the families of those service members who remain unaccounted for from American conflicts overseas. For years, Shaheen has led the bipartisan Bring Our Heroes Home Act , legislation that would eliminate obstacles preventing families from accessing records needed to learn more about the fates of service members and civilian personnel who went missing. Earlier this year, Shaheen helped secure a provision in the annual Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) based on her Bring Our Heroes Home Act . ###
