Cortez Masto, Rosen Secure OVER $3.5 Million for SAFE Roads in Nevada

Washington, D.C. –U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) secured $3,675,400 to increase road safety throughout Nevada. The funding was awarded through the Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program, which funds local, regional, and Tribal initiatives to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries.
“Whether they’re headed to work or to school, to the grocery store or their favorite hiking trail, Nevadans deserve to feel safe on our roads,”said Senator Cortez Masto.“This critical infusion of funding will make transportation in the Silver State safer for drivers, bikers, and pedestrians alike. I will continue working to ensure Nevadans can get where they need to go safely.”
“I’m thrilled to see that the funding we helped secure is coming to our state to make meaningful safety upgrades for roads around the Lake Tahoe area,”said Senator Rosen.“Building more shared-use paths and enhancing pedestrian signals will allow Nevadans to enjoy the beauty of Tahoe safely. I’ll keep working to build safe and accessible roadways that are crucial for our communities.”
The Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Funding will be awarded to three jurisdictions within the State of Nevada:

They have secured millions in funding toexpandthe I-80 corridor,increaseroadways safety, andmake improvements toairports throughout the State of Nevada. They havesupportedefforts to improve Nevada’s electric vehicle infrastructure as more drivers make the shift to zero-emission cars and trucks. Cortez Masto and Rosen helped pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which funded transportation projects throughout Nevada, including theArlington Avenue Bridges Project.
