Rep. Balint Welcomes Decision to Stop Vermont USCIS Reassignments to Minnesota
BRATTLEBORO, VT — Representative Becca Balint (VT-AL) today welcomed the news that Vermont-based USCIS employees will no longer be sent to Minnesota to conduct immigration enforcement, after raising concerns about the change in mission: “Given the aggressive ICE operations underway in Minnesota which have already led to deadly force and widespread fear, I raised serious concerns about sending Vermont USCIS employees into roles far outside their mission and training. I’m relieved those reassignments are no longer moving forward, and that these public servants can remain focused on helping people navigate the immigration system safely and lawfully.” Rep. Balint’s statement regarding the original reports of Vermont USCIC employees being deployed to Minnesota can be viewed here . ###
