Kaptur and DeLauro Expose Energy Secretary’s Lies

May 12, 2025 Press Release *NEW FACT SHEET* : Wright’s Wrongs Toledo, Ohio — Last week, United States Secretary of Energy Chris Wright appeared before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies for a hearing on the Department of Energy’s fiscal year 2026 budget request. During the hearing, Secretary Wright made several incorrect, misleading, or outright false statements. In a new fact sheet , House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Ranking Member Marcy Kaptur (OH-09) and House Appropriations Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) set the record straight. “The Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee has the opportunity to make strategic investments that lower energy costs for American families, promote America’s energy independence, and support a robust and modern manufacturing sector, which are in line with President Trump’s stated goals.
