Washington is barreling toward a government shutdown — and if the Democrats refuse to act, it’s Iowa families who will pay the price. That means : 🪖 15,000+ Iowa servicemembers and DoD civilians could miss paychecks 🥫 330,000 Iowans on SNAP may face food assistance delays ✈️ TSA staffing shortages will cause longer airport lines in Des Moines The House already passed a commonsense bill weeks ago to keep the government open. But Senate Democrats are blocking it — demanding $1.5 trillion in wasteful spending for programs that don’t help Iowa families. 🎥 I joined KCCI Close Up to break down what this means for our communities ⬇️ If Democrats force a shutdown and millions of Americans go without pay, then Members of Congress shouldn’t get paid either .
