PHOTOS: Sen. Schiff Highlights Focus on Affordable Housing in Visit to Bay Area
Oakland, CA — On Monday, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) toured Brooklyn Basin in Oakland to experience local efforts to build affordable housing units along the Oakland shoreline. The Brooklyn Basin project will redevelop 64 acres in Oakland into a transit-oriented mixed-use neighborhood with residential, retail, commercial, open space and recreation facilities. On the tour, Schiff was joined by representatives from the Northern California Carpenters Union, Alameda County Building and Construction Council, MidPen Housing, and Signature Development Group. After the tour, Schiff met with a Bay Area content creator Tunde Modupee to discuss ways to address housing and small business challenges in Oakland. View photos from the visit below: ###
