Senator Andy Kim to Hold Series of In-Person Town Halls This Week to Hear Directly from New Jersey and Put the People’s Voice First

JERSEY CITY, N.J. –Today,Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ)announced a series of three town halls across New Jersey to be held this week to hear directly from the people and engage in a dialogue about the future of our country.
Following through on his long-held commitment to hold town halls and be accessible to New Jerseyans, Senator Kim held 81 town halls before being sworn in to the Senate at the end of 2024 and has held two telephone town halls this year.
Over the course of the first ten weeks of legislative session in the U.S. Senate this year, Senator Kim has worked to hold the Trump administration accountable byintroducing legislation to reinstate veterans they firedandhighlighting the damaging impact of the Trump administration’slawlessness. To support New Jersey families, he took action toprotect federal programs Americans rely onanddefend New Jersey’s schools and students.
As Congress prepares to negotiate a hyper-partisan Republican reconciliation package that threatens to cut Medicaid, education funding, and other critical support for working people, Senator Kim will outline what’s at stake and hear from New Jerseyans on what they want him to bring back to Capitol Hill and fight for to ensure that New Jersey families’ priorities are put first.

He is a member of the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP); the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs; and the Special Committee on Aging. Before being elected to the U.S. Senate, Kim represented New Jersey’s Third Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives and was a career public servant working in national security and diplomacy at the White House, State Department, and Pentagon.
