Husted on the ground with Ohio aviation leaders and foster children

“From aviation innovators to organizations supporting foster children, Ohio continues to lead by example.” COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today met with leaders in Ohio’s aviation industry in Columbus and toured a specialized foster care facility in Mt. Vernon. “It’s always inspiring to be in Ohio with the people who make our state strong. From aviation innovators to organizations supporting foster children, Ohio continues to lead by example,” said Husted. Husted joined the Ohio Aviation Association for a fireside chat discussing the various aviation issues in the state. General aviation in Ohio supports a total output of more than $11.7 billion . “Ohio is the birthplace of aviation. From Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to NASA Glenn and the 104 public-use airports around the state, Ohio is still the place where the aviation industry takes flight,” said Husted. Husted supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act in July which included major investments for air traffic control modernization. Husted also toured The Village Network in Mt. Vernon, a nonprofit behavioral health organization that provides trauma-informed treatment, residential care and specialized foster care services to youth and families. “I spent the first two months of my life in foster care before being adopted by my parents, and I want every child to have what I was given—a safe and loving home. The work being done at The Village Network is making a real difference for Ohio’s foster children, and it was inspiring to see it firsthand,” said Husted.
