Fetterman Statement on Mullin Committee Vote
WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, the U.S. Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs will vote to advance the confirmation of U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) to be Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) released the following statement:
“In January, I called on the president to fire Noem—and he did.
“I truly approached the confirmation of my colleague and friend, Senator Mullin, with an open-mind.
“We need a leader at DHS.
“We must reopen DHS.
“My AYE is rooted in a strong committed, constructive working relationship with Senator Mullin for our nation’s security.”
