Senator Collins Visits Sappi Somerset Mill

At the conclusion of the tour, Senator Collins presented Plant Manager Marty Richard and Sappi North America CEO Mike Haws with a copy of the Congressional Record recognizing the 50th anniversary of operation for the Somerset Mill. “Sappi’s Somerset Mill is one of Maine’s largest employers and has been a cornerstone of Somerset County for five decades,” said Senator Collins. “From its skilled workforce and state-of-the-art operations to its $1 billion investment since 2018 to improve and expand plant operations here in Maine, the Somerset Mill continues to make important contributions to our state’s economy and the greater Skowhegan community.
