Texas Armed Services Scholarship Application
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is pleased to announce the 2025-2026
academic year (Fall 2025/Spring 2026) nomination period is open for the Texas Armed Services
Scholarship Program (TASSP). TASSP was created to encourage students to complete a
baccalaureate degree and become members of the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air
National Guard, the Texas State Guard, the United States Coast Guard, or the United States
Merchant Marine, or to become commissioned officers in any branch of the armed services of
the United States.
This year I will appoint one student and one alternate to receive an initial scholarship. Students
must meet specific requirements to be eligible for a nomination. Details about the scholarship

Application requirements:
Students from Senate District 8 may apply for the scholarship by sending the following
application packet to Senator Angela Paxton:
q Attached TASSP Application for Nomination Form
q Resume (including name, address, email, phone number)
q Brief introductory letter detailing how this scholarship would help you achieve your goals

Our internal deadline to receive the applications is July 10th, 2025. The Texas Higher
Education Coordinating Board encourages legislative offices to make appointments no later than
Sept. 30, 2025, so that the student may receive funds earlier in the Fall 2025 semester.
