YMCA Facility Cuts Ribbon on Facility Upgrades Supported by McBath Funding Request

Lawrenceville, GA — Today, Congresswoman Lucy McBath (D-GA) spoke at the ribbon cutting for the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA in recognition of important facility upgrades supported by McBath’s Community Project Funding request from the 2024 Consolidated Appropriations Act. These facility upgrades were one of 14 projects McBath championed in the government funding project that will directly benefit residents of Georgia. “As a mother, there is nothing more important to me than ensuring our children have the best resources and facilities available to nurture them through each stage of their development,” McBath said. “And as a Congresswoman, I am so proud to take that sense of care and concern that I had for my own son and extend it to each child and family that I am honored to represent in Congress. I was happy to support this project and help secure funding for the upgrades we are celebrating today. Congratulations to the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA on this exciting new chapter!” “The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is grateful for Congresswoman Lucy McBath’s support and assistance to secure funding through the Department of Housing and Urban Development to improve facilities at the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA,” said Lauren Koontz, president and CEO of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. “The J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA has served the Gwinnett County community for more than three decades and we look forward to continue providing programs that support youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.” ABOUT THE YMCA OF METRO ATLANTA The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
