Grand Lake Elementary School Students Honored in White House Christmas Tree Display
LAFAYETTE, LA – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) announced that ornaments created by students at Cameron Parish’s Grand Lake Elementary School are being showcased by the White House at the 2025 National Christmas Tree Experience. The students’ ornament designs highlight Louisiana’s natural resources and are inspired by the birds of Cameron Parish. While replicas of the students’ ornaments are on display at the National Christmas Tree Experience, their original ornaments are on display at the Historical City Hall in downtown Lake Charles. Congressman Higgins said, “I’m proud of these remarkable young artists and the teachers who supported them. To have Cameron Parish and Grand Lake Elementary represented at the National Christmas Tree Experience is a tremendous honor. Congratulations to Harley, Cali, Drew, Jack, Jordan, Josie, Julia, Kash, Kemynii, Kendall, Presley, Reid, Rhett, and their dedicated teacher, Karen McCain.” Visit https://www.thenationaltree.org/ornaments/louisiana/ for more information.
