Daines Commends Trump Administration and Uzbekistan for Landmark Deportation Deal

U.S. SENATE –U.S. Senator Steve Daines, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and co-chair of the Central Asia Caucus in the U.S. Senate, commended the Trump administration and the government of Uzbekistan today for a landmark deal where Uzbekistan will accept and pay for the return of more than 100 illegal immigrants from Central Asia.
“This is what leadership looks like. President Trump is ensuring our border is secure and our communities are safe, and is working diplomatic channels to send illegal immigrants back to where they came from. Having travelled frequently to Central Asia, I commend our allies in the region for their cooperation and look forward to many prosperous partnerships in the future,”said Daines.
