Stefanik Delivers $500,000 Investment in Carthage Area Hospital Through Northern Border Regional Commission Grant to Strengthen Rural Healthcare in North Country
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Chair of House Republican Leadership, announced the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) has awarded nearly $500,000 in funding to the Carthage Area Hospital to establish a dual-track nursing initiative, including a graduate nurse residency program and a virtual nursing model. "For the past decade, I have worked incredibly closely with our North Country hospitals including Carthage Area Hospital to deliver significant funding and regulatory and legislative results. I have been the national leader on delivering Northern Border Regional Commission Grant funding to rural hospitals in our district and am proud to announce over $500,000 in funding to boost nurse retention and expand clinical training to deliver even better patient care to Upstate New Yorkers. I'm proud to strengthen our state's rural healthcare infrastructure serving New Yorkers," said Stefanik.
