Dr. Joyce Joins Logan Township United Fire Department to Celebrate Federal Investments in Public Safety

October 23, 2026 Press Release Totaling $341,078, the secured grants support firefighter safety initiatives, emergency response capabilities, and community fire prevention programs LOGAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. – On October 20, 2026, Congressman John Joyce visited the Logan Township United Fire Department at their Station 18 facility to see first-hand the federal funding he fought to secure for the department and its fire crew. Firefighters, first responders, and officials of Logan Township United Fire Department proudly showcased the significant impact of three federal grants during a special gathering at the station. “It was an honor to stand alongside the brave men and women of the Logan Township United Fire Department and see firsthand how the federal funding I fought for in Congress is strengthening their capabilities and helping keep our community safe,” said Congressman John Joyce, M.D. “These dedicated volunteers sacrifice time away from their families to answer the call when their neighbors need them most. They deserve the best equipment, resources, and protective gear available to ensure they can carry out lifesaving missions safely and effectively. These federal investments are powerful and meaningful examples of how your tax dollars are used to directly benefit volunteer fire departments and the residents who depend upon their services.” "On behalf of the Logan Township United Fire Department, I want to express our sincere appreciation and recognition of Congressman Dr. John Joyce for his continued support of the fire service and his commitment to the men and women who dedicate themselves to protecting our communities,” said Ronald Shoenfelt, Fire Chief of the Logan Township United Fire Department. “Volunteer fire departments face tremendous challenges in securing the financial resources necessary to provide safe and effective emergency services.
