Congresswoman Lee Helps Secure $181,000 to Reduce Lead in Drinking Water at Nevada Schools and Child Care Facilities
June 16, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON – Today, Congresswoman Susie Lee (NV-03) announced that $181,000 has been made available for Nevada schools and child care facilities through the Voluntary School and Child Care Lead Testing and Reduction Grant Program. This investment was made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that Congresswoman Lee helped negotiate and pass . “Every Nevadan and American deserves
access to safe, clean drinking water, and this investment is critical to
delivering on that promise. Lead exposure damages the health of children,
harming their brains and slowing their development. Clean water is critical to
a child’s success in the classroom,” said Congresswoman Lee . “This new
investment to secure clean drinking water for our kids was made possible by the
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which I was proud to help negotiate and pass. I
will keep working across the aisle — in Nevada and in Washington — to make sure
that our families continue to benefit from investments like these for the long
haul." This grant program originated under the
Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act in 2016. The
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law amended the program to allow grant funding to be
used for lead remediation, in addition to testing. You can read more about the Voluntary
