Ernst Advances Trump SBA IG Nominee Out of Committee
WASHINGTON – Today, Chair Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) led the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship in advancing President Trump’s nominee William Kirk for Inspector General of the Small Business Administration (SBA) by a vote of 10-9.
Last month during his confirmation hearing, ErnsttoutedKirk’s strong credentials and commitment to holding COVID fraudsters accountable.

Ernst’sSBA Fraud Enforcement Extension Act,which passed out of committee,would extend the statute of limitations for COVID fraudsters and empower the Trump administrationto recover $200 billion in potentially fraudulent COVID relief advances and loans.
She introduced the legislation after a shockingreportrevealed that the Biden SBA failed to pursue nearly two million individuals suspected of stealing pandemic aid.
