Rep. Dave Min Welcomes Korean Soccer Legend Son Heung-Min to Los Angeles

August 7, 2025 Press Release Irvine, CA — Representative Dave Min (CA-47), one of only three Korean Americans serving in the House of Representatives, welcomed Korean soccer legend Son Heung-Min to California after Son transferred to Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC). Son spent the last decade competing with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in the English Premiere League where he scored 173 goals in 454 matches, and led his team to victory in the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League Championship. Son comes to LAFC as one of the most decorated soccer players in the world, and is widely considered the best Korean soccer player to have ever played. “Millions of Korean Americans, including myself, are now LAFC fans,” said Rep.
