Sánchez: Chaos Trump destabilized USPS

February 5, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON – Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee Ranking Member Linda T. Sánchez (D-Calif.) today released the following statement after the U.S. Postal Service temporarily suspended accepting packages from China and Hong Kong: “This is yet another example of the chaos President Trump continues to create. He loves signing executive orders to show off for the cameras but fails to consider their long-term implications or how they’ll be carried out. “There is bipartisan support to address China’s exploitation of our trade policies including the de minimis issue, which has been a major factor in the rise of fentanyl in our nation. However, the president again chose to bypass Congress, leaving USPS and Customs scrambling to fix the mess he created. “We need a strategic, thoughtful approach to China, not more impulsive executive orders.” ### Issues : Labor and Trade
