Walberg Honors Hillsdale County Veteran

Image September 29, 2026 Press Release Yesterday, Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-05) recognized Turner Korotzer of Hillsdale as the Veteran of the Month for September. The Congressman presented Turner with the Congressional Record containing his remarks honoring Turner’s service and dedication to our nation. Turner enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2015, serving proudly as a Network Administrator with the Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton in California. During his service, Turner deployed twice to Kuwait and later to Syria with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In recognition of his service, Turner earned both the Navy Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. After leaving the Marine Corps, Turner never stopped serving, shifting his efforts to the local veteran community. He became involved with several veteran service organizations, including the Hillsdale American Legion, where he took on a leadership role organizing Hillsdale’s annual Independence Day fireworks celebration. Turner has also demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting fellow veterans and fire departments across Hillsdale through his volunteer work with the Major Henry Holloway Canteen Unit. “It is a privilege to honor Turner as the Veteran of the Month for September,” said Rep.
