Rep. Laura Gillen Secures Nearly $4 Million in Community Project Funding for Nassau County

January 15, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C.  -  Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) released the following statement after the bipartisan funding package for Fiscal Year 2026 passed in Congress, which includes more than $3.2 million she secured for community projects in Nassau County. “I’m proud to have fought for and secured these critical federal investments to bring much-needed resources home to Nassau County,” said Congresswoman Gillen. “These funds will support upgrades to our water infrastructure, helping communities access cleaner drinking water and provide law enforcement with the tools and technology they need to better serve and protect our communities.” The bipartisan package reflects Congresswoman Gillen’s commitment to a wide range of priorities important to South Shore residents, which she fought to secure in the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process . The full list of community projects that will receive funding in this package through Congresswoman Gillen’s appropriations requests includes: $1,092,000 for the City of Long Beach for a Sand Filter Tank Replacement $1,031,000 for Rockville Centre Police Security Cameras $1,092,000 for the Village of Hempstead Water Treatment Upgrades Congresswoman Gillen has been a bipartisan champion for New York’s Fourth Congressional District. To date, she has secured more than $4 million for local projects across Nassau County through the appropriations process and her office has helped return over $1.2 million owed to her constituents by federal agencies.
