Washington, DC – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement: Three years ago today, Russia launched a premeditated war of aggression that has been responsible for the devastation, death and destruction inflicted upon our democratic ally Ukraine. Since then, President Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress have supported the people of Ukraine and pushed back against Russian aggression in order to protect America’s national security interests. President Trump and Pro-Putin Republicans are now recklessly threatening to abandon Ukraine and appease Russia, our sworn enemy. The Ukrainian people and President Zelensky stand on the side of democracy, freedom and truth. We must continue to stand with them until victory is won. ###
