LaMonica McIver (D-NJ-10) released the following statement on the federal funding freeze reversal: “Today, the White House caved to pressure from the American people and elected officials, and reversed course on their disastrous federal funding freeze. A halt on this funding would devastate businesses, stop key research, threaten disaster relief, hurt families, and abandon our communities. “In just one day with the threat of this freeze, Trump caused chaos as local programs were locked out of necessary funding, and people were shut out of portals for Medicaid, Head Start and more. “This reversal is welcome news, but we have to stay on top of the Trump administration’s harmful agenda. Make no mistake—this is just the beginning of their attacks on working people.
