Gillen Statement on Inauguration Day Travel

January 19, 2025 Press Release GARDEN CITY, NY – Today, Congresswoman Laura Gillen (NY-04) put out the following statement ahead of the 60th Presidential Inauguration: “ Unfortunately a family funeral yesterday, today ’ s extreme weather conditions, and the related flight cancelations have prevented me from traveling back to DC to witness the Inauguration. The peaceful transfer of power between Administrations is one of the sacred tenets of our democracy. ” "While I am unable to attend tomorrow's ceremony, I look forward to working with the President and his Administration to deliver for Long Island.”
