Lieu (D-Los Angeles County) issued the following statement after President Donald Trump berated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office. “Nobody is celebrating President Trump and Vice President Vance’s embarrassing behavior in the Oval Office more than Vladimir Putin. President Trump has made America weaker. In his first month as President, Donald Trump has demonstrated to our democratic allies around the world that the United States is no longer a reliable partner and friend. This sad reality was on visible display during today’s meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The United States does not always have to agree with our allies, but we should try to treat them with respect and dignity.
