Senator Adam Hinojosa Helps Pass Texas Education Freedom Act (SB2)
SB2 Heads to Texas House of Representatives
Austin TX, - Senator Adam Hinojosa, representing Senate District 27, proudly announces the successful
passage of Senate Bill 2 (SB2) out of the Texas Senate, marking the beginning of a transformative
moment in Texas education. This landmark legislation will empower Texas families with the freedom to
choose the educational path that best suits their children's needs.
SB2 establishes Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), funded by $1 billion allocated from the state's
budget surplus, ensuring that no existing public school funds are affected. This initiative provides 100,000
students with the opportunity to select the educational environment that best aligns with their aspirations
and learning styles.
"This is an important step in ensuring that all Texas families have the tools they need to choose the
best educational environment for their children," said Senator Hinojosa. "I am proud to stand
alongside my colleagues in passing this bill, and I look forward to working on additional legislation
that will ease the concerns of our constituents regarding the funding of public schools and salaries

The passage of SB2 from the Senate Floor furthers the process in this important legislation and is the
