No partisan power grab will ever change who we are or what we stand for. “Donald Trump demanded this scheme to protect his own power, and Governor Abbott caved. Instead of helping Texans recover from the devastating Hill Country floods or lowering costs for Texans, he chose to serve Trump’s obsession with control. That is not leadership. It is betrayal. “I am proud of the brave Texas House Democrats who stood their ground and showed the country what it means to fight back.
