Bresnahan Delivers $1.25 Million Investment for Monroe County Wastewater Facility

August 11, 2026 Press Release STROUDSBURG, PA: Today, U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan, Jr. (PA-08) joined local elected officials in Monroe County to announce $1.25 million in federal funding he secured for the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility for the area. “Good infrastructure is about more than meeting today’s needs. It’s about doing our part to leave our communities stronger for the people who come after us,” said Rep. Bresnahan. “This expansion is an investment in the future, making sure Monroe County has a wastewater system it can rely on for decades to come. I’m proud we were able to work together to bring federal dollars back to Northeastern Pennsylvania for a project that will make a real difference for this community.” Image Rep. Bresnahan was joined by Monroe County Commissioners John Christy , Chairman, David Parker , Vice Chairman, and Sharon Laverdure . This project is one of 13 that Rep. Bresnahan secured federal funding for in the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process, including other projects to improve wastewater infrastructure, as well as investments in roads, bridges, housing, education, and law enforcement. He also supported the bipartisan Water Resources Development Act of 2026, which expands access to federal water resources programs and helps communities improve wastewater systems, reduce flood risks, and invest in long-term resilience.
