WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (D-MD) released a statement following Israel’s strike on Iran:

“For years, Iran has violated international nuclear agreements, funded terrorist proxies and launched attacks targeting civilians—including Americans. The regime’s role in the October 7 Hamas massacre and its continued support for terrorist groups like Hezbollah and the Houthis make clear that it poses a direct and ongoing threat to regional and, in light of their nuclear weapon ambitions, to America’s security.

The U.S. must support Israel’s right to self-defense and ensure Iran never acquires a nuclear weapon, and we must remain focused on protecting our personnel, maintaining stability and keeping the path to diplomacy open.”
