Durbin Meets With Australian Ambassador To The U.S., Greg Moriarty
June 24, 2026 Durbin Meets With Australian Ambassador To The U.S., Greg Moriarty WASHINGTON – U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL), Co-Chair of the bipartisan, bicameral Friends of Australia Caucus, met with the new Australian Ambassador to the U.S., Greg Moriaty, to discuss U.S.–Australian security cooperation and trade. U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) also attended the meeting. “Australia has been a crucial partner to the United States for more than a century,” Durbin said. “That alliance has allowed us to maintain security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, and it’s imperative we continue the implementation of the AUKUS security pact. Despite the President’s tariffs wars and reshaping of U.S. foreign policy, we will maintain a strong partnership with our Australian friends.” Photos of the meeting can be found here . -30- Print Email Share Tweet
