News Cornyn Statement on Senate Passage of Trump Rescissions Package Will Codify DOGE Cuts to Rein in Waste, Fraud, and Abuse July 17, 2025 WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), founding member of the Senate DOGE Caucus, released the following statement after the Senate passed President Trump’s rescissions package, which will codify the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) cuts to rein in frivolous spending and root out fraud and abuse throughout the federal government: “With this rescissions package, President Trump has offered Congress a historic opportunity to rein in frivolous spending identified through the good work of DOGE and ensure Texans’ taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly,” said Sen.
