Husted in Central Ohio with workers at Anduril and Path Robotics, farmers at Hartford Fair
“Ohio is building the future of American manufacturing, from the next generation of defense technology to the robotics that are helping our manufacturers compete and grow.” COLUMBUS – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) visited Anduril and Path Robotics in Columbus to see their facilities firsthand and participated in a roundtable with agricultural leaders at the Hartford Fair to hear directly from Ohio workers, manufacturers and farmers about their priorities. “Ohio is building the future of American manufacturing, from the next generation of defense technology to the robotics that are helping our manufacturers compete and grow. Central Ohio is proof of that: Anduril is strengthening America’s national defense, while Path Robotics is helping Ohio manufacturers overcome workforce challenges and increase their productivity. I’m proud to see the work Ohioans are doing to strengthen our country and our state,” said Husted. Husted was joined by Rep. Mike Carey (R-Ohio) and Rep. Dave Taylor (R-Ohio) to tour the production floor at the Anduril’s Arsenal-1 facility and receive a briefing on the company’s current production of the autonomous Fury aircraft. Fury is Anduril’s entrant in the Air Force’s Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. Husted supported CCA efforts to quickly transition to full-scale production of the CCA through language in the Fiscal Year 2026 National Defense Authorization Act Senate report. Husted also hosted a town hall discussion with workers at Path Robotics. Path Robotics develops AI-driven mobile welding systems that assist human welders with tasks in hard-to-reach places, improving workforce productivity and manufacturing throughout. The company was originally founded in Cleveland and employs more than 200 Ohioans. Additionally, Husted visited the Hartford Fair with Rep. Troy Balderson (R-Ohio) to talk with Ohio farmers about their priorities. “Ohio’s farmers are the backbone of our economy, putting food on tables across our nation. I always appreciate the chance to spend time with them, hear about their work and learn more about what we can do to support the farmers who keep Ohio moving forward,” said Husted. At the roundtable, Husted discussed his USDA Loan Modernization Act , introduced with Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), which removes outdated eligibility barriers that prevent modern family farms from accessing USDA loan programs. Husted also supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act to strengthen Ohio’s agricultural industry. The law includes eliminating the death tax for family-run farms, making permanent the 20% Qualified Business Income deduction for farmers and increasing Section 179 expensing limits to help farmers invest in new machinery, equipment and expanded operations. These visits build on Husted’s work to help Ohio workers, manufacturers and small businesses. In the Senate, Husted is supporting: Made in America Manufacturing Financing Act : This bill would expand access to growth capital for small U.S.-based manufacturers. Investing in All of America Act: This bill would expand access to capital for small businesses in rural and low-income communities, as well as those in the manufacturing and critical technology sectors. AI for Mainstreet Act: This bill would provide training, guidance and support to American small businesses looking to implement AI into their businesses. Repealing Big Brother Overreach Act: This bill would eliminate the requirement for small businesses to report beneficial ownership information to the Treasury Department, which is burdensome and overreaching. Husted also supported the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, which includes major provisions for small businesses and their workforce: Makes the 20% small business tax deduction permanent. Delivers $4,600 in average tax relief to 8 million entrepreneurs around the country. Creates 1.2 million jobs annually for the next 10 years. Doubles the small business expensing limits for new investments in machinery, equipment and software. Includes a $7,000 tax cut for 12 million small business owners. Cuts taxes on tips and overtime, saving tipped and overtime workers up to $1,750 per year.
