Arrington Applauds 9th Circuit Decision on Trump’s National Guard Deployment
Washington, D.C. – House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) issued the following statement after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld President Trump’s authority to deploy Oregon National Guard troops to restore law and order in Portland: “The Ninth Circuit just confirmed what we already knew — President Trump has every right to deploy the National Guard to protect federal officers, including ICE agents, and defend federal property from violent criminals and domestic terrorists. “Meanwhile, cities like Portland, San Francisco, and Chicago are being run into the ground by weak, woke politicians who’ve handed their streets over to leftist violent mobs. They’ve abandoned law-abiding citizens and turned their backs on public safety. “President Trump isn’t trying to run these failed cities — that’s up to their voters. But he will stand up for federal law and will stop anarchists from attacking federal buildings or assaulting law enforcement who keep this country safe.” – Chairman Arrington. ###
