The bipartisan resolution also reaffirms the United States’ commitment to supporting the victims and their families in seeking legal justice and continuing to fight on behalf of all U.S. hostages, alive and fallen, around the world. During the October 7th attacks on Israel, Hamas terrorists murdered more than 1,200 innocent people, including at least 46 American citizens. Hamas also took 251 people hostage, including 12 Americans, some of whom were held and tortured for more than a year. “It is our responsibility to make sure the world never forgets the unspeakable violence carried out by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023 – the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust,” said Senator Rosen. “I introduced this bipartisan resolution to honor the Americans who were killed on that day and those taken hostage by Hamas. It also honors the hostages’ families, who demonstrated remarkable courage during a time of intense grief and anxiety by being steadfast and fierce advocates for the return of their loved ones. Today, nearly three years after the horror of October 7, we mark this tragic date and reaffirm our commitment to supporting the American victims and their families and all those held hostage around the world.” “Three years ago, the world watched in horror as Hamas terrorists massacred innocent civilians, including American citizens. Families were torn apart, communities were decimated, and innocents, including babies and young children, were barbarically murdered. Americans were among the victims. There is no moral gray area here; Hamas is evil. Our country must protect our people and has a duty to secure justice for them,” said Senator Rick Scott. “I was proud to work with Senator Rosen to honor the Americans whose lives were unjustly taken from them and the hostages who will spend the rest of their lives scarred by that tragic day” Senator Rosen has been a fierce advocate for the safety and security of Israeli and American hostages, and has stood firmly against Hamas’ brutal acts of terror. During the hostage crisis, Senator Rosen led a bipartisan resolution in the Senate demanding the safe release of the remaining hostages who were still in captivity in 2025. In October 2023, following a visit to Israel where she met with families of those taken captive, she introduced a bipartisan resolution, which later passed the Senate, condemning Hamas’s attacks and demanding the release of hostages. ### Facebook-f Instagram Youtube Flickr Contact Email Jacky Request a Meeting Office Locations Newsletter Signup Privacy Policy Contact Email Jacky Request a Meeting Office Locations Newsletter Signup Privacy Policy For Nevadans Constituent Services Help With a Federal Agency Flag Requests Tour Requests Internships Senate Page Nominations Academy Nominations For Nevadans Constituent Services Help With a Federal Agency Flag Requests Tour Requests Internships Senate Page Nominations Academy Nominations Resource Guides Veterans Resource Guide Senior Resource Guide Small Business Pocket Guide Federal Funding Grant Requests Appropriations Requests Community Project Funding Resource Guides Veterans Resource Guide Senior Resource Guide Small Business Pocket Guide Federal Funding Grant Requests Appropriations Requests Community Project Funding About Jacky Biography Committees Voting Record Legislation News Press Releases In the News Videos About Jacky Biography Committees Voting Record Legislation News Press Releases In the News Videos
