Finstad Secures Release of Federal Funding for Boys & Girls Club of Rochester

ROCHESTER, MN – Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01) today announced that the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has released 21 st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) funding allocated for the 2025 school year. Administered by the Department of Education, 21 st CCLC grants primarily fund before- and after-school programming for students who attend eligible schools with a high concentration of low-income families. The release of the funding comes after Congressman Finstad’s office contacted OMB on behalf of the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester, a center which depends on 21 st CCLC funding for its programming. The delay occurred as OMB conducted a needed comprehensive review of all 21 st CCLC funding to ensure proper use of taxpayer dollars. “One of the greatest honors of serving in Congress is ensuring our southern Minnesota communities have the resources they need from the federal government,” said Rep. Finstad. “These grant dollars are incredibly important for the after-school programs that thousands of youth and families depend on in southern Minnesota, and I was proud to advocate for the Boys & Girls Club of Rochester and similar organizations across the state to get this done for the many kids who benefit from participating in these programs.”
