NEWS: Senators Blunt Rochester, Curtis Launch Consumer Safety Technology Act to Strengthen AI and Blockchain Safeguards

Washington, DC–U.S. Senators Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) and John Curtis (R-Utah), members of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee,yesterdayintroduced theConsumer Safety Technology Act, bipartisan legislation to modernize consumer protection tools and keep American families safe in a rapidly changing digital world.
“Our government must be able to keep up with new and emerging technologies, especially when it comes to consumer safety,”said Senator Blunt Rochester.“TheConsumer Safety Technology Actwould allow the Consumer Product Safety Commission to explore using artificial intelligence to further its critical goals. I am grateful to work alongside Senator Curtis on this legislation and look forward to getting it over the finish line.”
