Rep. Eric Burlison Highlights Inclusion of His Legislative Priorities in RSC FY2026 Budget

January 9, 2026 Press Release Washington, D.C. — Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO-07) welcomed the release of the Republican Study Committee’s (RSC) fiscal year (FY) 2026 budget, which balances the federal budget within 10 years by returning federal spending to pre-COVID-era levels. “ The RSC Budget demonstrates that Congress can restore fiscal discipline without cutting Social Security or Medicare, ” said Rep. Burlison . “ It reflects a serious effort to rein in spending, enforce the law, and govern responsibly. ” The RSC FY2026 Budget incorporates several bills sponsored by Rep. Burlison, including: Judicial Review Timeline Clarity Act — Establishes firm deadlines for lawsuits challenging permitted infrastructure and energy projects and limits judicial interference absent an imminent and substantial danger. Reliable Grid Act — Protects baseload power and grid reliability by prohibiting federal agencies from enforcing regulations that threaten affordable and reliable electricity. UNPLUG Electric Vehicles Act — Eliminates unobligated federal funding for electric vehicle charging programs. Ending the Cycle of Dependency Act — Cracks down on abuse in food stamps and other welfare programs by ending broad geographic waivers that undermine work requirements. Achieving Choice in Education Act — Expands education-savings options and incentivizes states to adopt school-choice policies. Life at Conception Act — Affirms constitutional protections for unborn children under the Fourteenth Amendment. “ At a time when the national debt has surpassed $38 trillion, Americans expect Congress to make responsible choices, ” Burlison said. “ This budget moves the country in that direction. ” Click here to read the full RSC FY2026 Budget.
