Chairman Walberg Statement on September Jobs Report

Image November 20, 2025 Press Release Today, Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) released the following statement in response to the Department of Labor’s September jobs report: “I cannot stress enough how deeply unfortunate it is that because of the Democrat shutdown we are now just looking at September jobs numbers and don’t have current figures. This gap in information makes it significantly harder for leaders to accurately assess the economy’s trajectory, respond to emerging challenges, and plan for the future. Thanks to the Democrats’ unnecessary and harmful shutdown, we may never have a complete picture of the employment situation from last month. However, the economy added jobs in September – clear proof that Republican policies are effective. Republicans are working to help get the country back on track—supporting policies that strengthen job creators, empower the workforce, and foster sustained economic growth.” Issues : Jobs and Economy
