Moskowitz Selected to Join Influential House Judiciary Committee

<p><strong>WASHINGTON, DC</strong><strong> </strong><strong>—</strong><strong> </strong>Today, Congressman Jared Moskowitz announced that he will join the powerful House Judiciary Committee for the 119^th Congress, building on his record as a leading voice on some of the most consequential issues facing Florida and the nation.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>“It’s an honor to have the trust of my colleagues to be appointed to the House Judiciary Committee. From supporting our men and women in law enforcement to enacting commonsense legislation to protect families from senseless gun violence, this Committee is the tip of the spear on some of the most consequential issues facing us,”</strong><strong> </strong>said Congressman Moskowitz. <strong>“Where this Committee puts in the bipartisan work to solve these challenges, I’ll partner with anyone to do it — but where they follow the antics I saw on the House Oversight Committee, I’ll hold them to account, just as I have on every Committee on which I’ve served. <p>With his service on the House Judiciary Committee, Moskowitz will help direct legislation and oversight on matters related to immigration, gun violence prevention, federal law enforcement, voting rights, civil rights, antitrust, and other such issues. House committees are assigned by a vote of the Steering &amp; Policy Committee, an arm of the House Democratic Caucus made up of fellow members of Congress.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In addition to his new role with the House Judiciary Committee, Moskowitz will continue to serve as a member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs for the 119^th Congress. The Foreign Affairs Committee holds broad jurisdiction over U.S. foreign policy and foreign relations, and on it, Moskowitz has been a leader championing U.S. allies around the world, supporting Israel’s right to self-defense, and standing up to foreign adversaries like China and Iran. He <a href="https://moskowitz.house.gov/posts/swearing-in-2025" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">was recently sworn in</a> for his second term representing Florida’s 23^rd Congressional District.&nbsp;</p>
