Today, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) released the following statement after the rulings in the District of Massachusetts and District of Rhode Island regarding the Trump administration’s decision to illegally withhold food assistance funding from needy families in November: “Today, two federal courts confirmed what we’ve been sounding the alarm about: the Trump administration has no legal grounds to deliberately withhold November SNAP benefits. “Congress allocated this funding to keep families fed, and the administration has chosen to weaponize the hunger of millions of Americans for political gain. “Donald Trump should immediately release that funding so that no family goes hungry.
