Sykes Announces $200,000 for Stark County Mental Health and Addiction Recovery AKRON, OHIO — Today, U.S. Representative Emilia Sykes (OH-13) announced that the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has awarded Stark County Mental Health and Addiction Recovery (StarkMHAR) $200,000 to maintain and expand mental health and substance use disorder services for people in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. “This federal investment in StarkMHAR will strengthen access to critical mental health and substance use disorder services for Stark County residents and improve our national efforts to combat substance abuse,” said Rep. Sykes. “It will provide individuals with the support they need to pursue recovery, and I look forward to seeing the continued impact of this funding in our community.” “StarkMHAR is grateful for the continued support from SAMHSA, which allows for critical training for law enforcement, EMS, and the first responder community as they encounter individuals who may need connected to the behavioral health care system.
