Rep. Webster Votes to Pass Commonsense Permitting Reform

Washington, D.C. — Today, Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, voted to pass H.R. 4776, the Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act, legislation that restores the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) to its original intent by fixing statutory flaws that have resulted in lengthy permitting delays and litigation. “The SPEED Act – legislation I helped develop, delivers long-overdue, commonsense reforms to help streamline the permitting process and expedite critical energy and infrastructure projects,” said Rep. Webster . For too long, statutory flaws in NEPA have slowed or stalled important projects, driving up costs for taxpayers.
